WYEC writes: 'The doctrine of justification, which is central to the Christian gospel, explains how people are made just in the eyes of God and saved by Jesus Christ. 2009 marks the tenth anniversary of the confirming by the Lutheran World Federation and the Catholic Church of the Joint Declaration on this issue, which the World Methodist Conference adopted in 2006. Leeds Trinity is offering this lecture as part of its celebration of the Pauline Year proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI to mark the supposed 2000 anniversary of the birth of St Paul.
